Initiation Hockey Tournament 2012
The Merritt Minor Hockey Association's initiation division hosted a six-team tournament at Nicola Valley Memorial Arena Saturday. The local teams were undefeated. Below are some of our shots from a game between Kelowna (blue) and Merritt (white) players.

The Merritt Centennials were humiliated on home ice last night at Nicola Valley Memorial Arena, losing 9-0 to the high-flying Penticton Vees. Ladies' Bonspiel 2012 - Merritt Curling Club

Varion Pond Hockey Classic 2012
Thirty teams faced off on seven rinks at the Varion Pond Hockey Classic in Logan Lake from Jan. 13-15. However, in the end, the Oronge Beer Nuts of Kamloops successfully defended their champion status for the fifth year in a row. The Beer Nuts (in green) defeated the Varion Huskies (in white) 19-10 on Jan. 15 to win the tournament. See our shots ...

Merritt Curling Club Men's Bonspiel
The Merritt Curling Club held its 2012 Men's Bonspiel from Jan. 6-8. A total of 24 rinks, consisting of four curlers each, participated. The rinks came from the Nicola Valley, Penticton, Kamloops, and the Lower Mainland. Bonspiel co-ordinator Bernie Kaluza's team won the A event, in which two Merritt rinks competed.

Locals joined Santa Claus as well as Merritt Centennials players on the ice at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena Dec. 12.

A total of 45 floats decorated by schools, businesses, and other community organizations participated in the annual Merritt Country Christmas Santa Claus parade on the evening of Nov. 25, 2011.
