Dear Editor:
After reading "Contracts Prove Road Public: Anglers" (June 14, 2012), one thing became crystal clear: the Ministry of Highways is not working in the public's best interest. For example, the ministry either gave away our right to use Stoney Lake Road (Route 281) and therefore our access to numerous lakes and other crown lands without due process, or they are lying about the road being private. Either way, the Ministry of Highways, a public body, is shafting the public to benefit Douglas Lake Cattle Company. To add insult to injury, the ministry, even though claiming Stoney Lake Road (Route 281) is private, is still using public funds to maintain it for the Douglas Lake Cattle Company. What a deal for DLCC! They get control of our resources and we get to pay the upkeep. This stinks! Isn't it time our illustrious MLA looked into this matter with a little more vigor than he has, since it was brought to his attention two years ago?
