Second festival offers consolation to MountainFest ticket holders

Great Canadian Bike Rally also makes special deal

PENTICTON—Rock the Peach Music Festival is the second B.C. fest to offer a special deal to MountainFest ticket holders, who were left without refunds following the cancellation of Merritt's big party just over a week ago.

Within days of the cancellation of the Merritt Mountain Music Festival May 22, organizers of Mission's Rockin' River country music festival announced they would offer one free night as well as discounted tickets to MountainFest ticket holders for the three-day festival.

And now Penticton's Rock the Peach has come up with its own offer.

"They are offering a $50 credit toward any Rock the Peach Music Festival ticket," read a festival statement Thursday.

"That means you could see Ronnie Dunn, Jesse Cook, Glass Tiger, Walk Off the Earth, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, and Free City Collective, all in one day, in the beautiful Okanagan for only $55 on Sunday, July 29th." The offer is valid until July 1.

Rock the Peach runs July 27-29 at King's Park in Penticton. Other big name acts include Collective Soul, Treble Charger, Three Dog Night, Sam Roberts Band, and Ridley Bent.

Upon cancellation of Merritt's festival, which was scheduled July 19-22, organizers directed ticket holders to seek refunds from their credit card companies.

Organizers with Merritt's second annual Great Canadian Bike Rally have also come up with a deal for MountainFest ticket holders.

"Until June 15, if you purchase a three-night concert pass, enter the promo code: mountainfest and receive $25.00 off," said Rally president Mike Fairfield in a press release earlier this afternoon.

The Great Canadian Bike Rally runs July 12-15 in Merritt. For ticket information, call 1-877-978-5553 or visit www.greatcanadianbikerally.com.
