The Merritt midget reps lost 8-7 to the Kelowna Junior Rockets last Monday, earning the local players second place at the tournament they hosted.
Eight teams participated in the tournament. The Merritt midgets bought a spot in the finals after winning four games and losing none during preliminary play.
Before being defeated by Kelowna, Merritt won over Nelson, Squamish, Victoria, and Vanderhoof.
