The beginning of a Surrey man’s holiday was spoiled after losing his wallet, only to have it returned with cash and credit cards missing.
Paul Eltringham says he has gotten over and continued his holidays despite losing $500 of cash as well as credit cards that were taken from his wallet.
On Aug. 22 at about 1:30 p.m., Eltringham says he stopped at a fruit stand in the Lower Nicola area and left his wallet on the tailgate of his truck. When he returned, it was missing.
“It was the first day of our holiday,” says Eltringham.
He says he was told by police and locals that the wallet would likely be returned in good faith; however, only a portion of the wallet was returned, minus the cash and cards.
