A witness says a man overturned his cement truck while turning right onto Cleasby Street from Nicola Avenue.

The driver of a cement truck was taken to Nicola Valley Health Care Centre this morning after rolling the vehicle onto its side on Cleasby Steet.

Just after 10 a.m. this morning, a witness says the driver of a cement truck was making a right turn onto Cleasyby street from Nicola Avenue and rolled the vehicle over.

“As he went around the corner, he tipped it over,” says George Budlanski, who was in his yard at the corner of Nicola and Cleasby when the accident occurred.

“He didn't seem to be going that fast.”

The accident occurred within seconds of emergency services and fire crews and paramedics were quick to arrive at the scene.

The driver was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Crews could be seen cleaning up what is believed to be a hydraulic oil leak that was seeping out of the overturned rig.
