Lower Nicola Indian Band candidate for chief Aaron Sam says the band needs an objective chief who will promote unity and listen to all band members “regardless of political affiliation.”
Sam, a lawyer and currently LNIB councillor, met with supporters at a meet and greet at Shulus Hall last Friday after announcing his candidacy earlier last week.
“I believe our community needs a chief that will promote unity, and working together as a chief and council,” said Sam in a press release issued last Monday.
“I believe the chief’s and council’s role is to listen and consult with band membership. The chief and council’s role is to be objective and listen to all band members, regardless of political affiliation.”
Current Chief Don Moses will not run again.
