Upset with 'bureaucrats' who took equipment

Dear Editor:
I just spent a few hours on Sunday in our “hospital” and was treated with efficiency and kindness.
Had I needed the equipment recently removed from our community health centre, I would have been out of luck. Someone took it.
Why would any resident of the Nicola Valley donate any money for anything knowing some bureaucrat can arbitrarily seize the item purchased by those donations and remove it from our community?
There is no justification for any bureaucrat to seize property not paid for out of his own budget, remove that item from one community, and take it to another.
I am glad to hear that our mayor has responded to this and trust that she, with the backing of all council members, will demand that all monies donated to purchase the item be removed from that bureaucrat’s budget forthwith and returned to city coffers to be held in trust for the residents of the Nicola Valley.
At some time in the future, I am sure there will be something that we as a community will need, and with that money safely held for future use then maybe we might be able to accept this horrible decision.
In the meantime, may I suggest that all residents keep this event in their minds, as well as the many other decisions being made at all levels of government without the common sense test — for the next elections.
Somehow, the message has to be clearly understood by politicians and bureaucrats that enough is enough. It is time to listen to your employers — the people of B.C.
From one fed up resident.
