When the thermometer rises over 35 degrees in B.C., people naturally start looking for ways to stay cool. The folks at Dairy Queen know that when it gets hot, people like to eat ice cream. That’s why they hold their Annual Miracle Treat Day in mid-August, the hottest time of the year.
August 12 marks the eighth annual DQ Miracle Treat Day. This is an opportunity for anyone to grab a tasty blizzard from any Dairy Queen in B.C. and feel good knowing that proceeds go to the Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds for children’s hospitals.
Since 1984, DQ has helped raise over $77 million for the Children’s Miracle Network. Last year, over $370,000 was raised.
The Children’s Miracle Network helps support over 170 children’s hospitals and health foundations across Canada and the US. Funds raised in B.C. go to research, medical equipment, and education programs at BC Children’s Hospital, B.C.’s only hospital devoted exclusively to the treatment of children from birth to age 16.
