Looking at the modern, spacious design in these new apartments, one might think they were in down town Vancouver, but while The Vibe on the corner of Clapperton Avenue, may share a certain stylish, urban elegance with many new big city apartments, the price is a little different.
“Where can you buy a unit like this, anywhere in B.C., for $130 000,” asked Marcel Ouellet, the project's general contractor. “You can't.”
Ouellet, who owns Planet Fitness 3, has partnered with lower mainland builder, Kelly Mendonca, to bring this new style of living to the growing community of Merritt.
Mendonca has over 20 years of experience in the building business and has completed many apartments and show homes.
The Vibe, located across the street from Bob's Mini Mart, has 17 units available for purchase; the units range from 900 to 1 100 square feet.
First time buyers, people looking to downsize or single professionals may just find what they are looking for in one of The Vibe's 11 different apartment designs.
Suites with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as those with one bedroom and one bathroom are available. All the apartments are complete with granite countertops, laminate and hardwood flooring, and stainless steel appliances. The ground floor apartments all have fenced off patios, and those on the second and third floors all come with balconies.
“Because of the climate here in Merritt, all the units have air conditioning in them,” said Ouellet, who knows just how hot Merritt summers can get.
There are currently two apartments available for viewing by potential buyers. The open house apartments, furnished by Chilliwack based interior designer, Laurel Kellington, showcase The Vibe's ‘higher end concept' design.
The open rooms boast large windows, nine-foot ceilings, electric fireplaces and a stylish design that gives them a real feel of comfort and class.
With a home warranty guaranteeing no maintenance for the buyer and available mortgage payments starting at just $548 a month, Ouellet sais he believes The Vibe is “very modern and very affordable.”
“We're really proud of the project,” said Ouellet.
Ouellet and Mendonca are already planning their next project.
“We're looking forward to doing the second one next year,” explained Ouellet.
