The Merritt Centennials will face the Penticton Vees in the first round of BCHL playoffs Friday night.
The Cents were hoping to draw a match up against Westside or Salmon, but following a loss to Trail on the weekend, the small-market franchise battle Canada's third best Junior A club.
Game one will go Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton starting at 7 p.m.
The Cents clinched the final playoff position in the BCHL interior conference, the seventh spot.
The Cents end the regular season with a losing record of 22 wins, 36 loses, and 46 points.
In other first round match ups, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks will face the Quesnel Millionaires, and the Trail Smoke Eaters will face the Westside Warriors. The first place Vernon Vipers will automatically advance to the second round.
The Prince George Spruce Kings and the Williams Lake Timberwolves did not qualify for the playoffs.
