Houston Street home robbed
Electronic equipment and some liquor were stolen from a residence on Houston Street during a break and enter late Sunday night.
At approximately 11 p.m., Merritt RCMP responded to a report of the theft of a Sony Playstation, Playstation games, and liquor at a house in the 1000 block of Houston Street.
Police say entry was gained through a kitchen window. The matter is still under investigation. Police ask that anyone with information regarding the theft call the RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS (8477).
Merritt man facing impaired driving charges
A 26-year-old Merritt man is facing charges of impaired driving after police pulled him over for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road on Garcia Street.
Merritt RCMP pulled over the man, driving a brown GMC pickup truck, and say he was found to be impaired.
Suspicious vehicle report results in charges
A 40-year-old Merritt man has been charged with Care and Control while impaired following a report of a suspicious vehicle Friday.
At 3:45 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Jackson Avenue.
RCMP arrived at the scene and say the vehicle was found occupied by the 40-year-old man.
Cocaine dealer off the streets in Princeton
An alleged cocaine dealer is off the streets in Princeton following the arrest of two males who tried to evade capture by police last Thursday.
Princeton RCMP arrested two Princeton men as the result of a street drug investigation involving the trafficking of crack cocaine.
As police moved in on the suspect's vehicle, the 21-year-old driver put his vehicle in reverse, trapping one of the police officers in behind the open driver's door of the suspect vehicle. The moving vehicle was brought to a quick stop, however, with no injuries to the police officer.
The driver is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, assault of a police officer, and resisting Arrest. The 20-year-old passenger was released without charges.
RCMP seized a quantity of crack cocaine and cash.
