NVIT president says goodbye

After nine years the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology will bid farewell to President Casey Sheridan.

Neil Sterritt, Chair of NVIT’s Board of Governors has announced that the board is currently developing a plan for the hiring of NVIT’s new president.

“On behalf of NVIT’s Board of Governors, our faculty, staff and students, I express our sincere appreciation for the dedication and leadership of Casey Sheridan,” said Sterritt in a press release last week.

“For nine years, Casey has served NVIT with integrity, vision and a goal to making NVIT the institute of choice for BC’s Aboriginal students.”

Sheridan led the institute through one of its largest periods of growth which saw significant increases in enrollment and the construction of student residences, a daycare and a lecture theatre.

Sheridan will continue in his role until the end of September.
