Grand grabs gong and goes

Friday night at the Grand Hotel saw many talented performers competing for prize money and a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas.

The Sayso Expression Society will work with the Grand Hotel for the next five months putting on a hybrid of American Idol and the Gong Show, with the performers coming up against a panel of judges and also facing the possibility of being gonged off the stage.

First place winners Doug Wessel and Adam Sanders performed a spirited 21-song medley that had the crowd laughing and earned them $125.

Clint Garcia took home the second prize of $75. And that puts them all in the running for the trip to Vegas.

The last Friday of every month for the next five months will see this talent show continue at the Grand Hotel.

Anyone with a talent they would like to share is encouraged to come on out and participate.
