QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Letters
Canada hypocritical over civilian deaths

Our government and its media continue with their guessing game of how many have been killed in Haiti - somewhere between 40,000 and 200,000 is the current guess.

But when the guessing is finally over, I expect it will still only be half of the tragic civilian deaths we are responsible for in Afghanistan.

And here’s the kicker: Haiti was a natural disaster, while in Afghanistan, we and we alone are responsible for all of those civilian deaths.

Wow! Onward soldiers… we can outdo natural disasters any day.
