The Merritt News has a new website, merrittnews.net, redesigned and ready for you to visit for the first time. We understand there are a growing number of readers that just can't get enough news fast enough and that is why we created this site; to bring you the news as it happens every day.
Now when you hear breaking news briefs on your radio or television, you don't have to wait until Thursday to find out the rest of the story. We will be publishing in-depth coverage daily, with a variety of points of view, and inviting you to make up your own mind on the events that shape our community.
In fact we encourage you to speak your mind on the new site. You can comment on any story you read on merrittnews.net and expand the public debate. We designed a community web site that would meet the needs of Merritt and give all residents equal access to information, and a chance to have their say. Get all the news of the week, plus TV listings, local weather, stock market reports and visit the Media Centre for national news video clips and local expanded photo galleries. We also put up PDF's of all our visitor's guides; tear off map, and the official visitor's guide and restaurant guide. Ultimately, we decided to put up copies of the weekly paper and we will start archiving on line. That's right, you can download the entire issue and read it on your computer or print it.
The Merritt News will still deliver over 5,100 newsprint copies in Merritt and the Nicola Valley every Thursday for those of you who prefer to hold a newspaper in your hands. We will get you your flyers, but now you have the option to have your free paper and your free interactive web site too. We are all in this together at merrittnews.net – make us your homepage. We look forward to hearing from you.
